ÉGLISE SAINT-JEAN-AU-MARCHÉ
Church with two large paintings by Pierre Mignard, including the Baptism of Christ on the high altar
Built in the 13th and 14th centuries, the church was transformed in the 16th century. It was the merchants' parish during the famous Champagne Fairs, symbolized by the fountain in front of the portal. The large belfry, which collapsed at the turn of the century, has been replaced by a campanile with a clock. The interior features paintings by Pierre Mignard and superb stained-glass windows. Restored over a ten-year period until 2009, the church is a must-see for its 16th-century sculptures and exhibited bells. Summer opening attracts visitors of all ages.
