LAURENT PLET
Laurent Plet's workshop is specialized in the restoration of organs of all styles. Its rare and excellent know-how has been awarded the Entreprise du patrimoine vivant distinction.
History. This organ building workshop was created in 1983 when Laurent Plet moved to Champagne-Ardenne after having completed several years of training with other organ builders in Alsace such as Jean-Georges and Yves Koenig where he obtained his Brevet de Compagnon. He then trains those who become his workshop companions. The eldest of his three sons, Pierre-Adrien Plet, then joined the family business.
To carry out its work, the company has an aged wood stock, all the woodworking tools, a forge, a melting table and all the tools necessary for shaping and working the pipes.
Achievements. Recognized as one of the best in France in his field, Laurent Plet often works on behalf of the Monuments historiques and notably on instruments made by the famous Cavaillé-Coll maker.
Employment. Seven employees work in the two workshops in Macey and Troyes. They achieved a turnover of €539,650 in 2018.
