FERRIOT CRIC
Ferriot Cric is a publisher and manufacturer of board games in the Aube region. Today, it is the national leader.
History. In 1929, a small company was founded in a rural village that manufactured wooden boxes and boxes for various uses. Just before the Second World War, the company turned to the toy industry.
Camille Ferriot is at the origin of this SME, but the "Cric" comes from something quite different: Création Réalisation Industrielle de Cartonnage, a sister company that manufactured products subcontracted by other publishers.
The activity continued, but the Châtillon-sur-Seine plant in Côte-d'Or, where Cric was located, closed. The two companies merged to be merged in 2010 at the Mussy-sur-Seine site, where the Ferriots built 4,000 m² of additional buildings heated by geothermal energy.
Today, Ferriot Cric operates three activities simultaneously: publisher and manufacturer of games on its own account, manufacturer on behalf of third party publishers, and manufacturer of advertising objects in partnership with communication agencies or advertisers themselves.
All game components are made on site, except for dice and some playing cards. The design and creation of the games is the responsibility of Vincent Ferriot, the eldest of the siblings. He created "La France et ses 101 départements" and "La France d'outre-mer".
The products. The game case is the company's historical product. The brand also manufactures board game sets such as lotto, yellow dwarf, goose game, magic tricks, puzzles, small horses..
Employment. About thirty people manufacture more than 600,000 game boxes per year.
