Inland navigation played a key role in the development and economic activity of the city. Its port of embarkation was considered, from the Middle Ages, as one of the most important from the source of the river to Paris. He even occupied the first place when Philippe de Valois created the granaries to salt. On the wharf of Petit-Saint-Laurent, facing the back of the Halle, flour and wheat were taken to Paris, even Lyon and Marseille. This port is always a key point for the economy. Although it is not open to private guests, it is interesting to spend it because it belongs to the Seine basins and is at the heart of the Havre-Rouen-Paris exchanges. Its dimension is thus international.
