ST. LAWRENCE CHURCH
Go there and contact
Wherever we come from, the look is immediately drawn to the tower; In 1650 Louis XIV himself nicknamed Nogent-sur-Seine «Nogent-la-Belle-Tour». It is true that, from the top of its 37 m, it requires a bell that serves as a pedestal to a colossal statue of St. Lawrence. Nevertheless, it would be reductive to stop at this turn alone. The St. Lawrence Church contains other treasures, including classified paintings, carving works - Ramus, Dubois and Boucher - and, above all, this magnificent sixteenth century organ furniture, classified at Historic Monuments. Sumptuous! The tourist office will give you all the necessary documents to take advantage of this site. The statue of the Virgin, which dates from the xvie, has been restored and the bell is beautifully highlighted by the illuminations. The renovation is still under way, and the surroundings are sometimes congested.
