THE TOOL IN HAND

Since 1987 in Troyes, the Main Purpose of the Tool in Main is to make children between the ages of 9 and 14 years aware of professions that the school system does not reveal to them. Professionals, professional craftsmen, retirees and volunteer artists introduce these young people to the legendary heritage trades, in real workshops, throughout the auwood country of Othe, Nogentais, the country of Armance or baralbaits… In these workshops are children and artisans initiators, every Wednesday afternoon during the school period. Initiation to the various professions lasts two years with a ceremony of solemn initiation. Children receive education in a privileged educational environment and in a family spirit. For example, families, animators and children are found. Every child takes the objects he has carried out home. The pride he takes from this concrete evidence of his initiation is the pride of the facilitators. Here, know-how and heritage are at the end of the volunteers' fingers, ready to deliver many magic formulas… In Troyes, children are welcome in the old Ecole Baltet, at the corner of the boulevard of 14-July and Pierre-Brossolette Avenue.
