Guided tour to discover the abbey where Saint Bernard lived, one of the best kept in France.
It was Saint Bernard who came to Clairvaux to build the famous abbey nine centuries ago, where he lived until his death in 1153. Today, very long walls, in successive rows, forbid any view on the vestiges of these former splendors. Clairvaux is one of the best guarded centers in France. However, the Ministry of Culture has taken over the space of the main historical buildings, which are accessible to visitors during guided tours.

J'ai eu la chance de visiter non pas l'abbaye mais le centre pénitentiaire. Cet endroit, véritable institution de l'administration pénitentiaire , chargé d'histoire est un véritable voyage dans cet univers si mystérieux.

L’accueil tout comme la visite guidée nous ont beaucoup apporté. Ils sont essentiels pour apprécier et comprendre le lieu d’hier et d’aujourd’hui.

Alors quoi dire... Quelle déception !! Nous pensions visiter une abbaye.. mais nous avons vu que 4 pièces (convers, réfectoire, cuisine, grange..) certes les rénovations sont magnifiques.. mais nous avons su vraiment très peu de choses de la vie des moines .. les explications du guide était plus accès sur la prison !! La guide parlons en??? La pauvre certes on peut être débutante ! Mais faut il encore connaître son sujet.. elle était livrée a elle même.. une catastrophe !! C'était un supplice pour elle et pour nous..
