THE CHAPEL OF ST. JOSEPH OF THE ANGELS

If it is a chapel that Petit Smart advises you, profane or converted, it is this chapel that invites admiration. We can see it from afar, yet it is easy to miss. This building nestles on the climax between Vosnon and Villeneuve-au-Chemin, dominant, as laid in the middle of the fields. Built from 1864 to 1891 by Father Cardot, priest of the village, with the help of the inhabitants and many parishioners, the chapel is surmounted by an imposing cast cast iron statue representing the Holy Virgin, 7 m high and 8 500 kg. Many activities animate the chapel site: concerts of classical music, gospel, departures of hikes, exhibitions, religious celebrations, including the pilgrimage to Saint Joseph on May 1 st. A public subscription is under way for restoration work (étanchéité étanchéité, storm remediation, accessibility and pose). Don't miss the ordeal, left of the tower, at the foot of which you can admire an authentic th century Pièta. Abbot Cardot is buried behind the calvary. When we know that it was restored by the same craftsman as the cathedral of Troyes, we cannot deviate from it.
