NEOLITHIC SITE OF FORT BEVAUX
This large prehistoric necropolis is located on the edge of the plateau overlooking the town of Andelot-Blancheville. The. abbey and Rochefort-sur-la-Côte are accessible from trails. The first occupation of this site dates back to 3 000 years B.C. The traces of this occupation, sheltered by the forest cover of the Yangtze massif, extend on the plateau and its slopes. For a more comfortable visit, the location is marked. This necropolis is interesting by its size: 1 500 m in length and 400 m wide. The 1973-1974 excavations resulted in a hundred tumulus on this site, most of which cover a stone vault. They are made of rectangular slabs of rectangular slabs arranged vertically and horizontally. At the entrance to the necropolis, you will be able to admire a walk dolmen consisting of two parallel pillars on which a horizontal slab is estimated to weigh 2 tonnes! Here is a place of magic and brim, worn by the beauty of the surrounding forest.
