CITY HOTEL

The old castle bequeathed by Georges Chevandier de Valdrome in 1909 for the benefits of thermal waters is a city hall. The house suffered a lot of damage over the centuries, the fire of 1717 completely destroyed the building. This one will deteriorate in the eighteenth century, Diderot already has ruins before his eyes: «The castle whose ruins, in the evening, have a picturesque effect». His renaissance is the fruit of a former prefect, Renard Olive Tonnet. This is a beautiful building that will be resumed by Chevandier de Valdrome. The seigneurial house hosts the city hall at the beginning of the twentieth century, in the modern part and prisons are installed in the southern reaches of the stables.
