CISTERCIAN ABBEY ON THE RIDGE
Withdrawn in a vallon on the river Le Rognon, the abbey of the ridge, formerly the Chrest, was built in 1721 by the lord of Clefmont and monks from Morimond. The Thirty Years' War and the Revolution left only ruins of the original building, but they witness the scale of reconstruction in the eighteenth century. There is still an imposing Portery, classified as a historic monument, the abbey house, the wall wall, a pigeon house and the large stable. The abbey site is now private property, but these wild and romantic ruins are visible through a 2 km walk around the site which will allow you to approach the environment of the retirement of monks. A rest area is dipondible for walkers. The beautiful bridge above the Rognon, facing the Porterie, date of the xviiie and is also classified. This year, he had the chance to be selected for the Loto du Patrimoine, a game designed to collect funds for restoration. In the meantime, support it with your presence at 1.30 a. m., guided by volunteers.
