ST. RÉMI CHURCH
Placards have other treasures than his garden: the municipality is also famous for Saint Rémi Church, classified as a historic monument as early as 1862. The history of this Gothic building begins in the xiith century. Much of the original church was destroyed and it was rebuilt in the sixteenth century. The era represents the apotheosis of the flamboyant Gothic style and the Renaissance of the Renaissance windows of Haute-Marne. They testify to the intense production of the teachers of the champenoise school. Saint-Rémi had 17 magnificent stained glass windows, set up between 1511 and 1518. Two of them present very popular scenes at that time: The Passion of Christ and the tree of Jessé. But we can also recognize the history of Adam and Eve and the life of saints. The church also has a remarkable sepulcher: a group of ten polychrome sculpted characters, of human size, representing the scene of Christ's anointing. This ensemble stands behind a stone balustrade. Finally, beautiful baptismal fonts of the fifteenth century, whose carved feet form hearts, and characters crashed complete this beautiful collection.
