STRONG VERCINGETORIX, KNOWN AS COGNELOT
At 11 km south-east of Langres, this military fort stretching over a surface of 39 hectares was used to defend and control the Culmont-Chalindrey knot, and also served as a relay to the armies and ensured their protection. Part of the fortified Langres belt, built from 1874 to 1877, its architecture is particularly careful. Rectangular court, vaults of white stone… It was then quickly decommissioned and now offers visitors its air of haunted castle. A great visit! Every year, for Halloween, Witch's Feast will scare the big and small: market of witches, sayets, jugglers, saltimbanks…
