TOUR OF THE AUDIENCE
A seigniorial tower in Châteauvillain, now home to the tourist office and a small town museum
The Auditoire tower dates back to the 13th century and was originally part of the now-defunct Château de Châteauvillain. As an auditorium, it was the place where the local lord dispensed justice. Comprising several parts, the auditorium has been enhanced by the town. The seigniorial tower, for example, houses the tourist office, while the various rooms are used for a variety of exhibitions. Outside, the medieval garden showcases the plants and flowers grown in the Middle Ages as aromatics or for the apothecary.
