ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST BASILICA
The Basilica of St. John the Baptist contains many works of art including a polychrome stone sepulchre, a tree of Jesse...
Classified as a historical monument, the Basilica of St. John the Baptist was erected as a collegiate church in 1474, then transformed into a basilica. Built, then enlarged from the XIIth to the XVIth, it has a nave of the XIIth, aisles of the XIVth. The dimensions of the building are not out of the ordinary. If the outside is "classic", the inside is more interesting. It contains many works of art including a polychrome stone sepulchre, a tree of Jesse, and works of the sculptor Bouchardon.
