THE CHAUMONT VIADUCT
This work was built in the middle of the century and was designed by the engineer Etienne Decomble
This incredible viaduct is THE pride of Chaumont. This structure, built in the middle of the 19th century, was designed by the engineer Etienne Decomble. With its 600 m length and its 50 arches at 50 m high, this immense construction built in a record time (15 months!) mobilized 2 500 workers who worked night and day. At night, it is illuminated by 430 LED projectors. Take the pedestrian path that crosses it on the second floor and admire the magnificent panorama of the beautiful Suize valley.
