OLD CASTLE - MEDIA LIBRARY
Chevillon is a charming village and consists of small cobbled streets where throne in its heart a castle. In the th century, Hubert de Defendant bought the land and the seigneurerie of the fief said «The Tower of Chevillon». His family lived until the Revolution. Les De Defendant will mark Chevillon from their presence until the nineteenth. The castle is abandoned, the ground floor even used as a barn and bergerie. Acquired in 1966 by Françoise Boulanger, restoration works are undertaken, prosecuted after his death by the town hall, which decides to make it a media library. We therefore satisfy the lovers of books and lovers of stones. Over the years, this "yellow castle" of the Middle Ages, which served as a hunting pavilion for the lords of Modèle, developed into a pleasant library. It is surrounded by a pleasant medieval garden or is cultivated by some different plant species: aromatic and medicinal herbs, vegetable crops and an orchard. To complement this décor worthy of children's tales, a path runs along the creek near the castle where you will let your eyes discover in this enchanted decor beautiful flowers, a vineyard, a fountain and a beautiful Gothic steeple. Absolutely charming!
