LES ATELIERS DE LANGRES
Les Ateliers de Langres is a family business that manufactures rustic or contemporary furniture in solid oak. From the bedroom to the living room, its products are manufactured 100% in France, hence the Origine France Garantie certification since 2013.
History. The history of the Ateliers de Langres goes back to 1968 in the small commune of Fayl-Billot, where the grandfather and father of the current president, Jérôme Plubel, chose to create the company Faysièges. In 1994, the family business took a new turn by separating itself from subcontracting contracts. Indeed, it decided to launch a range of beech furniture for the mass retail sector. In 1998, the company created its 100% solid oak models. On the strength of its success, it definitively abandoned subcontracting the following year. And it was in 2002 that the manager decided to create a new company, Les Ateliers de Langres, with a site located in Hortes, another small town in Haute-Marne. In 2006, he opened a new site dedicated to solid oak furniture in Bourbonne-les-Bains. Production has doubled since these last investments. The Faysièges site is responsible for the manufacture of furniture up to flat assembly, and the Hortes site is responsible for finishing and tinting, as is the Bourbonne-les-Bains site.
The products. Les Ateliers de Langres offers solid oak furniture from the forestry operations of Sylvain Plubel, the brother of the company's manager. Their customers have the possibility to choose the colour and finish for custom furniture.
Employment. The Landres Workshops cover a 5,000 m2 site and employ about 50 people.
