LE CUL-DU-CERF
Close to Reynel and Andelot, this site is one of the most spectacular natural curiosities in the department. It is a huge circular ravine 200 m wide and 65 m deep with slopes at 45 °. It looks strongly like a funnel and is the result of chemical and mechanical erosion of water in limestone medium. In essence, the entrance to the abyss and the upper and temporary source of La, a tributary of the Rognon, which goes deeper than 70 m deep in underground traffic, is found. Magic! But why that name? There are two interpretations: the local topography used to trap the deer hunted, or the peculiar colour of chalk recalled the plastron of that animal. The National Forestry Office has set up pleasant courses that descend the inclined walls from the circus to the source, and then track the bois and the watercourse to Orquevaux. Think of equipping yourself with very good shoes if you want to venture there because the site is very steep.
