Art nouveau circuit, with houses that preserve the cast iron of the foundries of Saint-Dizier, the window sills or balconies
The Haute-Marne region is renowned for its production of cast iron at Osne-le-Val, Sommevoire, Dommartin and Bussy. The foundries of Saint-Dizier cast the creations of a famous Art Nouveau architect: Hector Guimard, to whom we also owe the entrances to the Paris metro, such as that of the Abbesses station at the foot of Montmartre (produced at Osne-le-Val). A hundred or so Bragard houses have kept their architectural elements: window sills, balconies, etc...
