MONASTIC GARDEN
Monastery garden which presents nearly 400 plants listed in the fields of pharmacopoeia in Eschau.
Classified as a remarkable garden, it has been redeveloped on its original basis: a monastic garden whose plants were used by the abbesses to care for passing pilgrims. Located in front of the Romanesque abbey church, the 10-acre space is designed in a checkerboard pattern. You will discover nearly 400 plants listed in the fields of pharmacopoeia, of medieval or current origin. The Committee of the Institute of Arts and Popular Traditions of Alsace has awarded a golden pretzel for the development of this site. The guided tour is full of information and anecdotes.
