THE MARKET HALL (19TH CENTURY)
The recovery of the Mau in the extension of Godart Square allowed, in 1882, to lift this hall to welcome the market to edible products. Combining iron and iron, it is typical of the metal constructions of the late th century. Built on the model of the Parisian Halles (Baltard), it has been classified since 1988 historic monument. The aim of a large renovation project with respect for original architecture, has since 2000 been its covered market vocation, combining aesthetics and modernity with facilities. The lower part of the modules is now closed by glass panels. The upper part, which included clear wooden tracks, was returned with a glass liner. The mûrs of the facade are in red and black bricks and form a geometrical motif in diamond. (H) go there!
