COMITÉ INTERPROFESSIONNEL DU VIN DE CHAMPAGNE
The role of the Interprofessional Committee of Champagne Wine or CIVC is multiple. Semi-public structure, halfway between private and public sector, it is an interprofessional body created by the French legislator who represents the wine growers and houses of Champagne and works in favour of their productions. It coordinates the trades and activities related to vine growing, wine making and the spread of champagne throughout the world. It defends the profession, but also ensures, for the whole planet, the promotion of Champagne wine. In addition to its work in the professional field, it is also very present to inform the general public, especially via its website (www.champagne.fr), which teaches us everything we need to know about production, appellations, land, viticulture and viniculture, as well as all aspects related to the consumption and tasting of champagne. The CIVC offers a selection of wine cellars and wine tasting, classified either by wine grower or by house or co-operative. On the other hand, the Committee selected five champagne routes, five major tourist routes, with each of them suggestions for visits or walks: Reims and its region, Epernay and its region, the Marne Valley, the Côte des Bar and the Coteaux Coteaux.
