Mercier offers one of the finest tours of champagne cellars. You'll travel part of the 18 km of cellars in a small train, and then climb back up in a panoramic elevator. After the audio tour, it's time for a tasting! Depending on the package you choose, you'll discover several cuvées: Mercier Brut, Brut Rosé, Blanc de Noirs and Réserve, not forgetting the 2002, 2006 and 2010 vintages. An experience between tradition and modernity for families with young children. It's never too early to experience the magic of Champagne!

Open Saturdays and Sundays (tours in French, English, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch, Portuguese, Chinese (Mandarin), Japanese and Russian via audio guides). Vintages 2002, 2006 and 2010 sold exclusively at the boutique. Delivery possible in mainland France. Visits from 20 euros per adult / 10 euros for 10 - 17 year olds). Under 10s: free visit. Online booking recommended.

Bref, revenons au lieu.
C'était impressionnant (notamment la visite des caves immenses et ce magnifique foudre) et éducatif (audacieuse personnalité que fut Mr Mercier).
On mise beaucoup sur l'histoire, la qualité, l'histoire et la qualité (il y a un côté un peu...trop à mon goût. Vous savez, ou peut-être pas, ce côté parfois, particulier, qu'on les français à montrer qu'ils sont particulièrement bons dans ce qu'ils font...) mais je
reviens sur l'avis des personnes qui disent qu'il y a peu, voire pas d'explications autour de la fabrication même du breuvage.
