Museum gathering an impressive collection of uniforms, weapons, artillery pieces and military equipment in Puisieulx

The Fort de la Pompelle, is a place of memory of the Great War. For four years, the site was the target of German bombing, but French troops resisted. The fort was completely renovated in 2014 and since 1972 has housed a museum that brings together an impressive collection of uniforms, weapons, artillery and military equipment, not to mention the Friese collection, 560 headdresses of the Imperial German Army.

Open Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am to 6 pm. Closed on Mondays. Closed on January 1, May 1, November 1 and December 25. Free admission for under-18s (and students on presentation of card), under-18s, Maisons de quartier de Reims groups, disabled persons, Mission Locale young people, jobseekers, RSA recipients. Free admission on May 8 and 1st Sunday of the month). Adults: €5.50 (€9 unaccompanied individual visit + large temporary exhibition). Children (aged 18 to 25): €3.30 (and over 65). Groups (20 people): €3.30. Free admission for veterans (Reddition and Fort de la Pompelle museums only) and reduced admission for members of the Friends of Reims Museums Association. Partial access for people with reduced mobility. Braille screens on the chronological frieze.

Utile pour s'imprégner de ce que fut la bataille de verdun. Seul bémol ascenseur en panne, tout comme au mémorial.

Superbe fort, une exposition géniale et de très belle mises en scène. Nous avons pris le temps et avons passé plus de 2 heures. C est genial de faire des vidite pareille.

Sehr interessantes Museum. Durch Zufall bei der Durchfahrt entdeckt. Fast interessanter als die Museen in Verdun. Sehr viel zu sehen, außen wie drin. Eindrucksvolle Sammlung.
