THE LAWN BOWLING ALLEY
These halls were designed by engineer Émile Freyssinet and completed in 1929
Located at the northern limit of the city center, the Halles du Boulingrin is a flagship building in the center of Reims. They were designed by the architect Émile Maigrot, built by the engineer Émile Freyssinet and completed in 1929. The Halles du Boulingrin represent a real technical feat in the use of reinforced concrete, which constitutes the vaults of the building. Left abandoned since 1988 for security reasons, they were threatened with destruction but were saved by their classification as historical monuments in 1990.
