HAIRY CHAPEL
Chapel provided with a dome of corrugated sheets and coat of arms of Montauban, the stones of the altar and the columns with capitals
On the path that led them from the front to the rear lines, soldiers of the 132nd RIT coming from Tarn-et-Garonne erected this small chapel covered with a dome of corrugated iron. The interior is partly made up of elements from the destroyed village church, the stones of the altar and the columns topped with capitals. Carrying a cross, the coat of arms of the town of Montauban overhangs the building. This chapel was in a pitiful state until the Association of the "Franco-German Committee for the Remembrance and Safeguarding of Sites in the Argonne" began to restore it. One of the stones of the altar, which bears the signature "Joseph Linden, sculptor 1917, Dijon", enabled the association, in close collaboration with its counterpart "Mémoire 82", to trace the son of Joseph Linden. The renovated building was inaugurated on 18 June 2011.
