Chapel near the banks of the Marne, decorated with marine anchors on the outside as well as on the inside in Vitry-le-François
In the area of the lower village, near the banks of the Marne, there was, long before the foundation of the city by François I, a village of bargemen which developed with the creation and the development of Vitry-le-François. The bargemen built this chapel in 1637 and dedicated it to Saint Nicolas, their patron saint. Decorated with sea anchors on the outside as well as on the inside, with wood sides and a gable covered with small beechwood slats, with a bell tower partially covered with slate, it does not lack charm.
