PESCADORI IN FESTA
On the day of Saint-Erasmus, the patron saint of sailors, there is a big mass followed by festivities organised by the fishermen.
The fishermen are grouped together in a brotherhood, the Confrérie de Saint Erasme. On St. Erasmus' day (June 2), a high mass is held, after which all the members of the brotherhood, dressed in a white alb edged in mauve, follow in procession the statue of the saint, which is transported to the port. Thanks to the "I Pescadori In Festa" association, during the four days preceding the event there are open-air concerts and meals. The menu includes fish soup, mussels and French fries, and grilled fish from local fishermen.
