THE CHURCH OF ST. ERASMUS
Cosy sailors' church in Ajaccio, full of kitsch in all its splendour
A seafarers' church full of kitsch in all its splendor: very pink cherubs, Jesus decorated with plastic flowers, boats hanging from the ceiling, a glittering chandelier. Finally, in a decor worthy of Pierre et Gilles, a warm church lent for June 2nd, Saint Erasmus' day, patron saint of sailors and fishermen: mass and procession from the chapel to the port with blessings of boats and Jet-Skis. A must see! You will find it towards the port Tino Rossi by entering the street Forcioli-Conti surrounded by other buildings.
