THE TORREAN SITE OF FOCÈ
Visit the Torrean site of Foce, a remarkable monument whose walls are composed of blocks of different granites.
A remarkable Torrean monument can be found near the Col de Foce on the Departmental road 757. After a 3-minute walk along a pretty meadow, one reaches the Torrean remains established on the eminence of Castellacia at 477 m. The diameter of this circular prehistoric settlement is about 12 m. The walls, made of blocks of different granites, are well over 3 m thick. There is a central chamber and three smaller chambers. The view from the ancient castellu is sumptuous, it embraces the middle Taravo valley covered with holm oaks and scrub.
