The Ese plateau - and the Pozzines - is a great place to take ski lessons, with a sheepfold in Bastelica.
Just an hour's drive from Ajaccio, the Ese plateau offers constant wonder in every season, providing a real escape. To reach the resort, you'll follow a narrow path perched on impressive cliffs. Open as soon as the first snow falls, this destination promises a family atmosphere with its small ski slopes. In the Pozzines sheepfold, you can enjoy the cheese produced and sold every summer by Jean-François Batistelli.

Pleasant day with sun and lots of wind in mountain. A windbreak absolutely must be provided because it is really cold at the top of mountains even if it means 35 degrees with Bastelica! Bring hiking boots because there is no well traced path, you get on stones all along. The paths leading to the pozzines are very steep as these are the descents that take skiers in winter.
By car, from Bastelica there are not many panels or signs: " should be followed; valley ese" but it is still about 40 minutes from Bastelica, take a bit lost long mountainside road. Then you arrive at the ski resort of Ese, the road ends with a small parking in the sun. Wild cows are then mixed. You must take the track to climb the mountain, about 1:00 of through steep ascent. Once at the top, a view of the mountain awaits you: it is then necessary to take a winding path to see the summit of the mountain for 30 minutes; you then arrive at down the mountain to see the pozzi in the basin below. Allow an hour for the downhill and the " visite" pozzi.
Careful!!! Little (not to say not) signs on the way except for 2 panels " Pozzi" then follow a large stone topped with a lot of small pebbles, they are referencias! They are marked by a small trace of yellow and orange painting.
In short: bring 40min road after Bastelica, state-of-the-art equipment (hiker shoes, jackets, cap and stick), and 5:00 of visit.
Not recommended for sports, people steps or young children! Need FOR BEING IN PHYSICAL GOOD CONDITION.
