The square offers one of the finest views of the sea and sand in Bonifacio.
The Place du Marché is a place where it is good to linger during a visit to Bonifacio. Located at the top of the Doria street and in the heart of the Citadel, it offers one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the sea and on the "grain of sand" (U Diu Grossu), a huge block detached from the cliff and emerging at a few fathoms. On the small square next to the market, you can see one of the wells which, in the past, collected rainwater to supply the Citadel. You will have the opportunity to eat, shop or play petanque!

il faut y être dés l'ouverture par contre !
Arrivée par le port (stationnement sur le grand parking au fond. Attention prix très chère) prendre la direction de l’escalier prés de l’église pour accéder au sommet de Bonifacio. Le trajet est un peu rude car beaucoup de marches mais nous sommes récompensés par le point de vue magnifique sur le port et la mer. Visite de la ville très riche en monuments, places, églises, vieilles constructions, le marché. Journée très agréable et enrichissante. C’est dommage qu’il y ait tant de monde …
