THE CHURCH OF ST. PANCRAS
Church containing beautiful objects, dating from the Italian Renaissance, including a tabernacle of 1731 and remarkable statues in Pila
Built halfway between Ajaccio and Propriano in 1888 on the remains of the former church, the Saint-Pancrace church contains a number of fine objects, notably from the Italian Renaissance, including a 1731 tabernacle in turned and carved wood, a fine 17th-century marquetry sacristy cabinet and a beautifully crafted 19th-century Stations of the Cross. Two statues can also be admired, one representing Saint Pancras and the other a Virgin and Child, which can certainly be dated to the mid-19th century.
