A village with a rich megalithic past, boasting a menhir and a statue-menhir at U Cantonu in Pila-Canale
The village of Pila-Canale (Pila è Canali) boasts a rich megalithic past, including a menhir and a U Cantonu statue-menhir near the cemetery, as well as a Bronze Age settlement known as Casteddu, with hut bases, enclosures and houses. The area is dominated to the west by the Punta di l'Orcu, once home to a vast megalithic complex. A number of dolmens can still be seen, having been reused for housing.
