THE CERBICAL ISLANDS
This reserve is the largest marine reserve in the western Mediterranean and is home to a remarkable ecological wealth.
The nature reserve of Bonifacio and the Cerbicale islands emanates from a Franco-Italian agreement protocol signed in 1992. With the nature reserve of Tre Padule de Suartone, it represents the largest marine reserve in the western Mediterranean and is home to a remarkable ecological wealth. These territories are managed by the Office of the Environment of Corsica and belong jointly to the public maritime domain, to the Conservatoire de l'Espace littoral et des rivages lacustres, to the communes and to the Department of South Corsica.
