TAPPA CASTELLU
A hilltop site, with a very well-preserved surrounding wall in the southern part, and the western part collapsed.
This castellu is reached via the D859 road to Figari. 4 km after the junction with the road to Bonifacio after the Stabiaccio bridge, there's a sign indicating a path to the left. You pass through the gate, which you close carefully, and enter the site at the top of the hill. The south wall is very well preserved, while the west wall has collapsed. The first floor of the tower is in perfect condition, with only the destroyed second floor missing. The Tappa site is considered one of Corsica's earliest villages.
