Archaeological site consisting of a necropolis and a pre-Roman rampart in Aléria.
The ancient town of Aléria is one of Corsica's largest Roman settlements. The ruins of the ancient town were first described by Prosper Mérimée (1803-1870) during his trip to Corsica in 1839. The archaeological site includes a necropolis and a pre-Roman rampart, as well as the partially excavated remains of the ancient Roman city. The website offers a wealth of details on the excavations and the results of recent research, but nothing beats a visit in situ to soak up the atmosphere of the site.

L'importance du site archéologique extérieur révèle l'importance de la ville antique. S'il ne reste que les bases des constructions, un plan détaille très clairement l'implantation des différents secteurs et la lecture de ce lieu de vie est très explicite.
