Nature reserve created in 1951 to preserve the island's endangered animal species
Approximately 5 km south of Aléria, the Casabianda nature reserve extends over 1,750 ha between the mouth of the Tavignano river to the north and the Urbino pond to the south. This hunting and wildlife reserve was created in 1951 to preserve the island's endangered species, including the red-legged partridge, the hare, the grey heron, the collared dove and the mallard. Composed of ponds, marshes and pastures, this area is bordered by juniper trees. This is also Corsican deer territory.
