LE PONT GENOIS
Visit the Genoese bridge, accessible via the D441 at Asco.
How can you imagine the beauty of Corsica without mentioning its famous Genoese bridges? This one dates back to the 15th century, during the period of Genoese occupation. To reach it, take the D441, a small, winding road about a kilometer long, which dead-ends at the bridge. The junction is on the D147, just outside the village in the direction of Asco-Stagnu, 14 km away. The bridge was part of the old road linking the valley to the Niolo. Underneath the structure, the Asco River has carved out a vast swimming pool, much appreciated by locals and tourists alike.
