Cathédrale Saint-Jean-Baptiste, with its many exceptional works of art, is well worth a visit to Calvi.
The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist is not known with certainty, but dates back to the 13th century. Originally the property of the Genoese monastery, it was later erected as a cathedral. It was damaged and rebuilt many times before taking on its current appearance in 1570. It houses many exceptional works of art, including a 15th-century triptych, a magnificent wooden pulpit and a beautiful baptistery.
