Sanctuary and place of pilgrimage during which a ceremony called "A granitula" is organized by members of the brotherhood
Casamaccioli is home to a sanctuary and pilgrimage site: Notre-Dame du Niolu. During a storm, a Neapolitan sea captain implored the Virgin to save his ship, and after being granted his wish, he bought a statue of the Virgin in Naples and gave it to the Corsicans. When the statue was transported through the villages, only Casamaccioli didn't try to keep it, and the donkey carrying it stopped here. Since then, the statue has been venerated in the church. The A granitula ceremony is the object of a pilgrimage and attracts many devotees every year.
