MAGASIN D'USINE MOULIN DE PRUNETE
If you had to choose only one gourmet stopover in Corsica, it would be at the Moulin de Prunete in Cervione. An essential gastronomic stopover during a stay on the island! Created in 1971, the Moulin de Prunete is a producer of high quality olive oils. No wonder when you consider that Corsica offers optimal climatic conditions for the cultivation of the tree, which can sometimes reach up to 20 metres in height! The Mill obtains its supplies from the olive trees three hundred years old of the Convent of Cervione. The choice of granite wheels to press the olives is a judicious compromise that meets the desire to combine modernity and tradition.
Particularities and distinctions: The oil was consecrated in 2004 by obtaining an Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC), then a Appellation d'Origine Protégée (AOP) in 2007. Indeed, the Oliu di Corsica Olive Oil of Corsica PDO is characterized by an extreme sweetness in the mouth due to the harvest of fruits at full maturity and by an intense aromatic palette of the flavors of the Corsican scrubland. The sweet and subtle aromas of this prestigious oil have earned it three gold medals at the Paris General Agricultural Competition.
