A Franciscan convent in Corbara, where you can share a life of community, silence and prayer.
On the site of an ancient abbey, an orphanage was built in 1420 by Nicolas Savelli, Bishop of Tino. In 1456, the site became a Franciscan convent until the French Revolution. Today, the Friars of St. John live here. To stay at the Corbara convent is to share a community life where silence and prayer, personal reflection and the beauty of the natural setting come together. It's not a hotel offering bed and board, but a religious family open to those seeking to share and strengthen their spiritual journey. The convent is also a spiritual retreat center for young people, families and singles. The community offers prayer and formation activities, as well as relaxation and sports during summer sessions. Facilities include a chapel, a reading room with library, a recreation room and a guest kitchen for preparing meals for the little ones. You'll need mid-mountain hiking boots if you want to enjoy the surrounding area. During your stay, everyone agrees to help with communal services (cleaning, service, washing up).
