CHEMIN DE FER DE LA CORSE (CFC)
The Corsican train vehicles 800 000 passengers per year, almost half of them during the four summer months. Reviled at the time of its creation in February 1888 - date of the first entry into service of the Bastia-Corte section - because it was economically detrimental to the corporation of the small charretiers, the train was defended when around 1960, some demanded its removal. Today, the Corsican train irrigates the interior with the Bastia-Ajaccio line which, through sublime landscapes, joins the Balagne with a number of art books, all of which are as beautiful as the other. The train also provides university students in Corte with a means of locomotion at less cost. Furthermore, a suburban shuttle bus serves the Bastia-Casamozza axis. Outside the summer, in order to meet the demand, there are around 40 trains per day (20 trips between Bastia and Casamozza)! Don't forget your camera or camcorder before you get by train. The modernization of the brand new rail and Self-propelled network since June 2009 has been a comfort (visibility and air conditioning).
