THE INZECCA AND STRETTE PARADES
A natural site that offers a vertiginous and sumptuous itinerary in Ghisoni.
The swift waters of the Fium'Orbu river, rushing down the slopes of the Monte Renoso massif to reach the eastern plain and the Mediterranean, have carved out two magnificent and very impressive gorges, among the most spectacular in Corsica: the Inzecca gorge and the Strette gorge(strette means narrow). Spread over 13 km, these canyons offer extraordinary scenery. To enjoy them, take the narrow, winding and spectacular D344 from Ghisoni. This natural site is sure to take your breath away: it's a vertiginous and sumptuous itinerary! Be warned, however, that the Inzecca is a very touristy natural gem. In summer, you'll have to cope with slow traffic, and finding a place to park can be very difficult... However, outside rush hour, you'll find plenty of idyllic swimming spots and enjoy one of the beautiful natural pools formed by the Fium'Orbu river, upstream from the lake. From Pinzalone, it's 4 kilometers of pure beauty, with a lake formed by the river just beyond the tunnel. Then you continue your exploration with the Strette gorge, more civilized, more accessible, greener and more pleasant, just as narrow if not as vertiginous as the Inzecca. Don't fail to admire the Genoese bridge u ponte a Mela and don't forget, as before any adventure in nature, to check the weather forecast.
