THE SENECA TOWER
Tour de Sénèque, one of the most popular viewpoints overlooking the valley at Luri.
This 12th-century tower dominates the valley, like a lighthouse set against a sea of scrubland. From the Col de Sainte-Lucie, you can look out over the northern part of the cape, with the sea on both sides. On a clear day, you can see the islands of the Tuscan archipelago and the Italian coast to the east, and the French coast to the west. Legend has it that Seneca, exiled to Corsica in 41, spent some time near the future site of the tower, but no historical evidence confirms this. In any case, it's one of the cape's most beautiful and accessible vantage points!
