VACCAGHJA ENCLOSURE
Former cattle pen, built of stabilized rammed earth, hosts concerts dedicated to voice
This former cattle pen was transformed in 2000 into an open-air auditorium with 220 seats. It was built in stabilized raw earth and the stage is covered by a dome of 8 meters, built without formwork according to the Nubian technique and the precepts of the Egyptian architect Hassan Fathy. This ancient work is one of the rare testimonies of the cereal activity of the Balagne region. The site now hosts concerts dedicated to the voice all year round. Many recordings are made there by the cultural center Voce.
