CONSERVATOIRE DU LITTORAL
Located in the town of Santo-Pietro-di-Tenda, the Conservatoire du Littoral is a site dedicated to the protection of nature and the environment. It covers a protected area of 5934.96 hectares, including communes such as Palasca, Santo-Pietro-di-Tenda, San-Gavino-di-Tenda and Saint-Florent. Since 1979, the Conservatoire has acquired almost 5700 hectares of coastal land. The Agriate territory is geographically bounded by 37 km of natural shoreline to the north, departmental road no. 81 and the Tenda foothills to the south, the Ostriconi valley to the west and the town of Saint-Florent and the Nebbiu plain to the east. The site offers a wide variety of landscapes, with numerous coves, bays, rocky points and beaches, the best known of which are Saleccia, Lotu, Ghignu and Ostriconi. There are also dune formations and wetlands.
