AMICALE SPORTIVE TERRITORIALE BISONTINE
The Trail des forts de Besançon is a popular sporting event which recorded a record 5597 registrations for its 16th edition. Organized by the Amicale Sportive Territoriale Bisontine (ASTB), the event attracts running enthusiasts from all over France and 17 foreign countries. It features four routes of 48 km, 28 km, 19 km and 10 km, combining natural sections with historical escapades through the fortifications listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site. Runners also have access to Besançon's famous Citadelle, with a breathtaking view of the finish. The Trail des forts de Besançon is considered the biggest nature race in Eastern France. The event showcases the city's sporting identity and helps promote the "Les grandes heures nature" label.
